After spending the whole afternoon trying to downgrade the XXXX S/N model (FTM28GX25H) back to 1571 without any success, I guess downgrading XXXX S/N is NOT possible?

Can anyone confirm this thought?

Regards,
Marcel

Hello again

I've got it... 1711 to 1571

Everybody who has Problems wit incompatible WinXP should try it with BartPE WinXP

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BartPE

The Picture is after Firmware downgrade
Image

Download the newest BartPE Builder (v3.1.10a) where you can choose a second Folder.
In this Folder you can put the FirmwareTool in and burn it as a BootDisk. Then run it on your Notebook/Desktop and start with the Explorerer the Firmware downgrade software.

I got no Errors while downgrading...

my Components:

WinXP/SP2 English Version (BartPe Boot CD)
SDD: FTM64GX25H -DEBX- (as you can see in the Picture)
Mainboard: Asus Mainboard P5K-VM/VP-G33
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 2.66GHz

hope the Win7 and Office installation runs better now...

Hi,

I've got a STT_FTM28GX25H with XXXX in the sn, which i want to downgrad to 1571 (from 1711 ;)) cause i am getting freezes under win7 x64...

But i can't downgrade it, no matter what i try...

When i use the FTM28GXXXH.rar file i get the message that the SSD is not supported (tried it under win7 x64, vista x64 and WinXP BartPE Live CD)

When i use the FTM28GX25H.rar file i get beyond the first step (selection of the disk) but then i get the ERROR: "DOWNLOAD_MICROCODE is not supported on this platform" (tried it also under win7 x64, vista x64 and WinXP BartPE Live CD)

Is there an other file which i have not seen?
Should i contact customer support to get an apropriate file?

Thanks

When using the tool with Vista/Win7, it has to be started in XP-compatibility mode and with admin rights. Also you will have to open/execute it two times, the first time will give you an error, which is normal.

Yeah, i know and started it at least two times... and it didn't work.

That's why i build a BartPE Live CD from XP SP2 Corp. Edition and it didn't work too.

What puzzles me is, that i have XXXX in the sn and tool for the XXXX version won't work, but the normal one does, well at least it gets one step further...
