Ultra Drive "Firmware download Error"

All firmware upgrade issues should go here

Re: Ultra Drive "Firmware download Error"

Hi,
I've got a "firmware dowload error" message too. My ssd is an ultradrive FTM28GX25H. Trying to upgrade 1571 to 1819.

OK, I fixed it: Set sata to IDE, and Enhanced mode, not compatible mode! Win7 boots and works fine, no need to reinstall!

Hi "lucky" :)
What kind of PC or notebook you used?
I'm not able to perform upgrade of my FTM32GX25H (at least 9 PCs/NBs was used) because of "..download error" regardless of IDE options.

regards,
Gregory

Hi, I had that same error with "Firmware download" during an upgrade from 1916 to 2030. The difference is that my drive is not recognized anymore when the switch is set to "normal mode", only in "factory mode" does it get recognized. But even then, the firmware upgrade tool doesn't see it, so I can't attempt to flash it again.
I haven't done a "secure erase" of the drive prior to flashing, nor have I deleted the logical partition, as this is not written in the instructions.

Hi Patozan,
Sorry for the inconvenience,
Have you read FW2030 announcement? Please read it.
If your SSD is not detectable at User mode (Normal mode), we should give you a different tool.
Please let us know of serial number and person e-mail address.

Hi James, perhaps my drive was not on the updater list then.
However, I tried to flash with all other firmwares and it is not recognized in either "normal mode" or "factory mode". As a matter of fact, in normal mode the sdd is invisible now.

Hi SSD-James,

looks like I ran into the same problem as Patozan.
Drive is not detectable anymore at user (normal) mode. You mentioned a special tool to fix this. I will write a PM with SN and email.

Thanks in advance.
