iii. This new firmware had been tested on various kinds of OS environment including Windows 7 32bit and 64bit.
iv. Many kinds of general application programs are installed and tested.
v. There are 2 kinds of firmware. One is Garbage Collection embedded and the other is no-GC. Both have Windows 7 Trim function in it.

Hi Sir:
This is not model bug. Running this firmware will automatically detect the drive, it will change to the name model name if need for future using.

Is it clear?

So its a wanted modell brand change?

My original STT_FTM64GX25H (43nm Toshiba Flash with Standard Barfeoot Controller) is now identicly branded as the STT_FTM64G225H ( 3Xnm Flash with Barefoot ECO Controller) ?

But if Orbmu2k is right, then you will change the model name significantly:

FTM28GX25H = UltraDrive GX

FTM28G225H = UltraDrive GX2

i.e. - UltraDrive GX2 is cheaper and slower. The user has purchased a GX, and after the flash he gets a GX2. What about reselling the SSD with diferrent model names on package and disk!?

What about Performance!?

#edit#

I have a FTM28GX25H with 'Standard' Barefoot-Controller and 43nm Toshiba-Flash. No 3xnm Flash and therefore no slower clocked ECO-Controller.

Hi Sir:

I understand your consider. The software will detect the drive automatically. Changing model name won't affect the performance.

Yeah!

Thats what i tried to explain the whole time. Those three flasher executeables will selected if the given UD is a 43nm Toshiba based SSD. The selection is corect as its the same executable id as for 1819. But the 1916 flashers change the modell brand to the GX2 variants.

So what now? Is this FW for GX or GX2 only? Obviously it works perfectly well with GX, too.

Because you edited your FW-Download-page: now it says "For GX2 products only".

@ST-J

But you do realize, that it is a bug, right? This can't be intended, as the customer clearly bought a "GX" and not a "GX2". Indilinxdrives with 43nm Toshibaflash are GX, not GX2 (still are).
But we did understand that it doesn't affect the performance - it's just the name. Still, this could produce flash errors in later firmware releases, so this should be fixed ASAP.

@ST-J

Your support page shows the following entries:

http://www.supertalent.com/support/driver_download.php#

UltraDrive GX2 Firmware Update version 1916 (GX2 Products Only)
UltraDrive_Firmware_Release_Notes_v1916.odf (252 KB) 01-06-10
STT-AP-10-B01-UltraDrive-FBX-Update-Guide-1916.pdf (195 KB) 01-06-10
UP1916_GC_STT.iso (4756 KB) 01-06-10

Please clarify for all users:

1) Is this FW update for GX2 only? It says so above in " (...)"

2) Why?

2) What happend to the nonGC Firmware?
