Hello,
i have a UltraDrive ME 64 GB MLC with Serial BTIX.
In the BIOS i set from AHCI to IDE, and downloaded FW1819_ISO.iso (from 10-19-09).
Then boot from CD-Rom, selected the SSD and started the Firmwareupdate.
But i get an Errormessage:
Code: Select all
[ERROR]Firmware download fail
----------------------------------------------
Bye!
----------------------------------------------

I retryed to flash the Firmware, but now the Tool shows that the Drive already has 1819. But why i get an Error?
That makes me nervous.
I hope you understand my problem, but my english is not so good. My German is better :)

How can I flash back from 1819 to 1571? The performance has suffered a lot, especially write perf.

Yo everybody ! Have succesfully updated my SSD to 1819, ATTO TEST Results (test was after my acronis true image home 2009 restored the entire disk ~109 gb, after full erase because i had to make downgrade to 1571 to make 1819 upgrade become reality):

shitty forum's bug doesn't allow me to poast pictures, it says "Your message contains too few characters." but this is nonsense, cause no matter how many characters i post - if my massage contains URL it cause error.

Are you running on Windows 7 with TRIM enabled? Did you have the SSD installed when you installed Windows 7? Verify at administrative mode command prompt "fsutil.exe behavior query DisableDeleteNotify" if = 0 trim is enabled. If = 1 trim is disabled. Run command "fsutil.exe behavior set DisableDeleteNotify 0" to enable if disabled. There is a lot of talk how your drive controllers drivers have to be able to pass the TRIM command. I believe if you have for example and Intel drive controller and you installed a driver for it instead of the Microsoft default driver in Windows 7 the Trim command will not work yet. For sure no Raid drivers for any driver controllers support TRIM yet. Supposedly Intel's TRIM supporting drive controller drivers for both RAID and non-raid are months away. Way to drop the ball Intel. Supposedly if you reformat a SSD with the 1819 firmware it will TRIM the drive.

Assuming for whatever reason TRIM is having problems and your drive has been written to alot then garbage collection should fix it but you need to make sure your computer is only in S1 power saving support and leave your computer on overnight so the garbage collection can mark all the deleted space as deleted and refresh it. If your computer goes to sleep mode garbage mode doesn't kick in. Garbage collection runs slowly in the background with the v1819 firmware with garbage collection enabled when the drive is not being used.
