When you boot up from the Win7 install disc, just be sure to first delete any partition (referred to as a "Volume") that may be present. I think you will have to go in to the customized disk install, or whatever it is called, to do this. Then, when you install Win7 it will automatically create a new partition with the correct alignment. In fact, your alignment may be correct as it is if you had Vista before, but just to be safe I would delete old one.

While flashing the drive, it is better to disable RAID, but you will be able to use it under normal OS.

Ok, i guess my question was not to understandable...

FW 1819/10.15.09 GC = on (for raid users and people who do not have trim)
FW 1819b/10.19.09 GC = off ( for single drive using Windows 7)

would this be correct ?

I am using 3 ftm32gxs in raid 0.
A clear answer to the above question ie. which firmware supports trim and which one has the internal garbage collector active would be very much appreciated. I need to know so I can use the one with GC on , on my drives; since the trim command is currently not implemented in the intel matrix storage drivers.
Thx

Hi,

just recognized that there is a new ISO on the driversite -> FW1819_ISO.iso (3066 KB) 10-19-09
Whats new / different to the previos versions ? Trim - YES/NO ; GC - YES/NO
I'm a little confused at the moment of these steady updates for the last few days. Please ST clarify about that. Thanks a lot.

From what I know there is no 1819a or 1819b. It is just FW 1819. The difference is just the ISO boot CD. Just use the one that works for you.

ST may rectify, if I am worng !

From what i know:

CH_ISO.iso (3912 KB) 10-15-09

>> Trim - YES ; GC - YES

>> good for Windows XP/Vista/7, Linux and Raid user

CH_FWUPT.iso (3066 KB) 10-19-09

>> Trim - YES ; GC - NO

>> good for Windows 7/Linux user

FW1819_ISO.iso (3066 KB) 10-19-09

>> identical with CH_ISO.iso, but with flash method from CH_FWUPT.iso
