iMac 27 and Super Talent Memory

Postby Matego2888 » Tue Jul 07, 2015 3:23 pm

Hi Everyone

I just have a question about super talent memory and its compatibility with iMac

The missus has an Imac 27" late 2011 model with i5 and it uses DDR3 1333MHZ memory.

I am looking at upgrading the memory and the store here sells W1333SB8GV and I just want to know if this is an Apple Compatible Memory.

The Super Talent website shows W1333SB8GS and I think S means Samsung.

Hope you guys can shed some lights.

Hi there, indeed the S stand for Samsung which means that the ICs used on the module are made by Samsung.

Please make sure that the iMac specs and model number match up and it is able to support the required speeds and allows for expansion. Apple is draconian when it comes to third party parts.
